For episode 701 of the BlockHash Podcast, host Brandon Zemp is joined by Dr Manny Ahmed, CEO & Founder of OpenOrigins, a media authenticity company that fights deepfakes by establishing an immutable record of content provenance.
As part of his PhD in Computer Security at the University of Cambridge, he developed a blockchain-based media provenance framework years before generative AI made creating synthetic media a matter of routine. That research forms the technical foundation of OpenOrigins and continues to guide the company’s approach to verifiable media.
He holds a master’s degree from ETH Zurich and has worked on high-integrity security and trust systems at Thales and nCipher Security. Manny also invented the leading anonymous whistleblowing system used by major news organizations like The Guardian.
